Housecall Pro Pricing: The Year-One Bill

Housecall Pro's published plan prices, published fees, and the add-ons it won't price on its site, added up into what a shop actually pays in year one.

Housecall Pro publishes plans from $79 to $329 a month on its general pricing page and trade packages from $79 to $649 on its plumbing, HVAC and electrical pages, before fees and add-ons. Card fees take 2.59% to 3.49% of card payments, some add-ons are priced only in its help center, and Pipeline, CSR AI and postcards have no published price.

Quick answer

Ask first which price list bills you: a five-user Essentials is $149 to $189 a month on the general page and $299 in the plumbing, HVAC and electrical package. Then add your card rate, 1% on bank payments, 1% more per same-day Instapay payout, and call tracking from $45 a month if you want calls sourced. Get Pipeline, CSR AI and postcard prices in writing.

What does the base plan cost, and what does an extra user add?

The general pricing page lists Basic at $79 a month or $59 billed annually, one user; Essentials at $189 or $149, five users; MAX at $329 or $299, eight users, plus $35 a month per user past eight, all before sales tax (Housecall Pro pricing, checked 2026-10-07). The billing help article lists added logins as "available only for MAX plans," so a sixth person on Essentials means asking about MAX (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07).

The plumbing, HVAC and electrical pages show trade packages instead, with no annual price: Basic $79, one user; Essentials $229 for one user or $299 with five, plus $100 per added user; MAX $349 for one or $649 with eight, plus $75 per added user (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, checked 2026-10-07). These bundle tools that are "normally paid add-ons," the Sales Proposal Tool on Essentials and Pipeline on MAX (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). The HVAC page's FAQ says $399 for single-user MAX, its plan card $349.

What do the add-ons cost, and which ones does Housecall Pro keep private?

Apart from calling the Sales Proposal Tool in general MAX a "$40/mo value," the pricing page prices no add-on. The help center prices Voice call tracking from "$45/mo + overages" and VoIP (phone service over the internet) with call tracking from $65, minutes rounded up (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07), and paid Campaigns for texts and email at $9 to $89 a month, the tier set by your plan (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). CSR AI, an always-on phone answering assistant, is "sold separately" with no figure (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07); no page checked prices Pipeline, a board for leads, estimates and jobs, or postcards.

What does payment processing and same-day payout take off the top?

The processing table sets the card fee by how the card is taken: 2.59% swiped, tapped or chipped in person; 2.99% entered by the customer on a digital invoice; 3.49% keyed in, scanned or charged on file, and on American Express or business cards. Bank (ACH) payments cost 1% and mobile check deposits nothing (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). On the pricing page, "as low as 2.59%" is that in-person rate.

Instapay, a payout typically within 30 minutes instead of two business days, costs "1% + Standard card or bank (ACH) payment processing fees," plus $0.75 on transactions under $75 (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). Surcharging, adding a fee to a customer's credit card payment, costs 0.50% per surcharged payment and is not offered in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York or Canada (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). Canadian shops also lose bank (ACH) payments and Campaigns, both US-only in the same help center.

Housecall Pro also files a Form 1099-K for U.S. accounts past $20,000 in gross card sales and 200 transactions a year (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07): a filing, not a fee.

What do the trial and cancellation terms say, and who is Housecall Pro built for?

The pricing page offers 14 days of MAX features with "No credit card required" and says Housecall Pro "does not require long-term contracts" (Housecall Pro pricing, checked 2026-10-07). It targets "home service businesses like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, landscaping, and others." A trial with no payment method closes itself after 14 days; the data stays safe if you resume.

Cancelling starts with a support chat, and the billing article says the Billing team reaches out within 1 to 3 business days and cannot fully process a cancellation or pause billing until it has spoken with the account owner by phone. Its 30-day money-back guarantee covers the base monthly fee only, and only if offered at sign-up.

Does Housecall Pro say anything about which ad paid for a job?

It records a lead source on each customer, job and estimate, and 13 system sources fill in on their own, among them "My Website (Online Booking)" and "Google Reserve" (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). Bookings from Local Services Ads (Google's pay-per-lead ads) and from Reserve with Google, Google's free booking button on a Business Profile, share one "Google" channel in the Job Inbox and "are not differentiated" (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07); Google lists Housecall Pro among its Google Ads booking partners (Google, checked 2026-10-07). The ROI (return on investment) table sets each source's revenue against spend you type in or import by month (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07).

The Voice call tracking add-on ties each purchased number to one lead source, such as the number on your Yelp page (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07). It describes numbers placed on listings, not numbers swapped per website visitor, so a caller who clicked an ad and then dialed from your site arrives with no click attached. I found no help article on reporting a paid job back as an offline conversion in Google Ads, a closed sale sent so Google can bid toward more like it, and the Google Analytics article covers only traffic to sites from the Websites add-on (Housecall Pro, checked 2026-10-07).

The ad side is where I worked, nearly $700K placed on Meta and Google ads between October 2023 and September 2025, and it left me one rule for any field service tool: an ad platform learns only from what is sent back to it, and an inbox tab sends nothing. Field service software that keeps the source on every job covers how other platforms close that gap.

What do Jobber, ServiceTitan and Workiz publish about their own pricing?

Jobber lists Core at $49 a month with no commitment or $29 paid annually, one user, $29 per extra user, and a 14-day trial of Grow features with no card (Jobber pricing, checked 2026-10-07). ServiceTitan puts Starter, Essentials and The Works behind "Request Pricing" (ServiceTitan pricing, checked 2026-10-07). Workiz puts Standard, Pro and Ultimate behind "Request pricing" and runs a seven-day trial without a card (Workiz pricing, checked 2026-10-07). None is ranked here; Housecall Pro vs Jobber and Jobber's full pricing go deeper on that pair.

What would a two-truck plumbing and HVAC shop pay in year one?

Illustrative: an invented shop whose numbers are all made up; none of it describes a client or a Housecall Pro customer, and only the prices and fee rates come from the pages cited above.

Two techs and two office staff log in, so the plumbing package's Essentials fits with a seat spare. The shop invoices $340,000 a year: 30% by card in person, 30% by card on emailed invoices, 30% by bank transfer, 10% by cash or check. Both techs use Tap to Pay, the owner takes Instapay on 15 payments averaging $1,800, and the office adds call tracking at its starting price.

LineHow it's figuredMade-up amount
Plumbing Essentials, 5 users$299 x 12$3,588.00
Cards in person$102,000 x 2.59%$2,641.80
Cards on online invoices$102,000 x 2.99%$3,049.80
Bank payments$102,000 x 1%$1,020.00
Tap to Pay, 2 phones2 x $5 x 12$120.00
Instapay15 x $1,800 x 1%$270.00
Call tracking, before overages$45 x 12$540.00
Year one, published costs onlySum of the above$11,229.60

On the general page's Essentials at $149 a month billed annually, the plan line falls to $1,788 and the total to $9,429.60, which is why the price list question comes first. Sales tax, Voice overages, CSR AI and postcards would come on top.

What should Housecall Pro put in writing before you sign?

  • Which price list bills you, general or trade package, and any annual price.
  • Whether the plan card's first-month promo applies.
  • What a user past your included seats costs.
  • Prices for Pipeline, CSR AI, postcards and, if your plan lacks it, the Sales Proposal Tool.
  • The Voice overage rate per minute.
  • Whether a tracking number's lead source lands on the job by itself, and how a Google Ads click could reach the job.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Housecall Pro's base plan cost?

On the general pricing page checked 2026-10-07, Basic is $79 a month, or $59 a month on annual billing, for one user, while Essentials and MAX cost more and include five and eight users. Its plumbing, HVAC and electrical pages show separate package prices: Basic $79, Essentials $229 for one user or $299 with five, MAX $349 for one user or $649 with eight.

Does Housecall Pro charge more as I add technicians?

On the general pricing page only MAX names a number, $35 a month for each user past the eight included, and the billing help article lists added logins as available only on MAX. The plumbing, HVAC and electrical packages charge $100 a month per user past five on Essentials and $75 past eight on MAX. Get the figure for your plan in writing before hiring.

Is Jobber cheaper than Housecall Pro?

Jobber's lowest listed price, Core, runs $49 a month with no commitment or $29 a month paid annually for one user; Housecall Pro's lowest, Basic, runs $79 or $59. Jobber's entry number is lower at both billing options, but the two plans do not include the same seats or tools, so a fair answer needs both vendors' prices at your own user count, not the floor price alone.

Does Housecall Pro report payments to the IRS?

Its help center says it reports payment volume for U.S. account holders on Form 1099-K once an account has more than $20,000 in gross card sales and more than 200 transactions in a calendar year. The figures are gross card sales, so they can differ from what reached your bank after refunds, chargebacks and processing fees.

Can Housecall Pro tell me which ad brought in a job?

Partly. It stores where each customer, job and estimate came from, sells call tracking numbers tied to one lead source each, and its ROI table divides revenue by spend you enter for each source. I found no help article describing a way to send a paid job back to Google Ads as a conversion, so matching a click to an invoice still needs a setup built outside the product.

What happens if I don't cancel during Housecall Pro's free trial?

Its billing help says a trial account with no payment method closes by itself after 14 days, and the pricing page says your data stays safe and you can resume by entering billing details. If you added a card during the trial, the same article says to contact support to close the account.
