Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how cheberko.com uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. It complements the Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, or measure how the site is used. “Similar technologies” include local storage, session storage, and pixels.

2. The categories I use

2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)

These are required for the Site to work. They cannot be turned off. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

  • theme, remembers your light/dark theme preference (localStorage, not a cookie).
  • cheberko-consent, stores your cookie consent choice so I don't ask again on every visit (localStorage).

2.2 Analytics (consent required)

Statistics about how the Site is used. Loaded only after you accept analytics via the banner, and never if you decline or send a GPC signal. Legal basis: consent.

  • Google Analytics 4, aggregated usage statistics (pages viewed, device type, approximate location). Sets_ga cookies. Provider: Google LLC (USA).
  • Microsoft Clarity, aggregated heatmaps and session replays to understand how visitors use the Site and improve it. Provider: Microsoft Corporation (USA).

2.3 Marketing (consent required)

Used to measure ad campaign effectiveness if I run paid traffic to my own site. Set only after you consent. Legal basis: consent.

  • (none active by default), no marketing cookies are set unless you opt in.

3. Managing your preferences

You can change your choices at any time:

  • Click the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to reopen the banner.
  • Clear cookies and localStorage in your browser settings to fully reset.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely. Note that some Site functions may stop working.

4. Third-party cookies

Where the Site embeds third-party content (e.g., YouTube videos, Calendly), those providers may set their own cookies. I do not control them. Their privacy and cookie policies apply.

5. Do Not Track

The Site respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, non-essential cookies will not be set even if you haven't interacted with the banner.

6. Updates

I may update this Cookies Policy if I add or remove tools that set cookies. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest version.
