Buildertrend Pricing: What Sets Your Bill and Contract

One version of Buildertrend's pricing page starts at $499 a month, the other shows a custom quote. What sets the bill, the renewal and the lead tracking.

Buildertrend's pricing page starts at $499 a month in one of the two versions it showed me on 2026-10-18, and in both the figure you sign comes from a custom quote. Two remodelers can pay different amounts for the same software, and the contract renews on its own.

Quick answer

  • One version of the pricing page says "Starting at $499 per month", the other prints no price and adds a call; both lead to a quote after a short form.
  • Users and projects are unlimited, and paying a year up front takes 10% off.
  • Renewal is automatic at the then-current fees, which can include an inflation increase of up to 10 percent, and cancelling mid-term refunds nothing.
  • Buildertrend documents no route for sending a signed job to Google Ads or Meta, so record a lead source on every lead yourself.
  • Judge it in signed jobs: the year's total cost divided by your gross profit per job.

What makes two remodelers' Buildertrend bills differ?

Buildertrend's pricing page names the inputs. The version with a figure says the platform starts at $499 a month and that "your final price depends on your annual construction volume and onboarding package"; the quote form on both versions asks your builder type and construction volume, and the version without a figure adds a call with the team (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18). I saw both versions that day, so note the date of any figure you see.

The rest sits on the order form. The terms require a Customer Success Service Level, Buildertrend's level of support service, for the whole subscription term, and say fees exclude taxes (Buildertrend terms, checked 2026-10-18).

What does the contract say about renewal and cancellation?

The terms of service, last updated June 24, 2026, come before the order form. They say all fees "are subject to change or increase," fees paid are non-refundable unless the terms say otherwise, and you have 60 days from an order form's date to dispute a fee on it (Buildertrend terms, checked 2026-10-18).

Renewal is automatic at the then-current fees, which include a consumer price index (inflation) increase of up to ten percent of the previous fees unless Buildertrend quotes otherwise in writing. Monthly and annual terms renew for the same length, a multi-year term renews for one year, and you must cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.

Cancelling mid-term returns nothing. Charged fees stay charged, the rest of the order form (installments included) is still owed, and you cancel by phone or email to your designated account manager. After the subscription ends, your data may stay accessible for one year, in a format Buildertrend chooses and possibly for a fee, and may then be deleted. Put the renewal date in your calendar.

What costs sit outside the subscription?

Buildertrend's payments page prices online payments per transaction with no extra platform fees and lets you pass card processing fees on to clients, but prints no rate (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18). One version of the pricing page marks Payments "US only," which matters for a Canadian remodeler.

Add-ons sit on the order form and, per the terms, run for the same term as the subscription; Buildertrend's JobTread comparison page calls them "optional premium business services" (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18). Its integrations page lists QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero, Gusto, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Bluebeam (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18); the accounting and payroll tools bill you separately.

What does it record about a lead, and can it report by source?

Buildertrend's help center calls a lead a Lead Opportunity. It can be typed in, imported from Excel or created by the contact form you embed on your website, and converting it to a job copies its information, files and legacy proposals across (Buildertrend help, checked 2026-10-18). Its CRM page adds confidence in the sale, projected sale date and salesperson (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18). A lead can hold several proposals but only one approved, and custom fields on a lead can be copied to the job (Buildertrend help, checked 2026-10-18).

These articles name no lead source field; a source would be a custom field you create and add to the website form. The Reports overview lists job and money reports such as Profitability and Cash Flow, none by lead source (Buildertrend help, checked 2026-10-18).

The integration pages for HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive each say the sync runs one way, into Buildertrend (checked 2026-10-18). The integrations page lists no Zapier, no Facebook or Google lead-form connection and nothing that sends a signed job to Google Ads or Meta, so, going by its own pages, that result leaves Buildertrend through your own export.

An ad platform learns from the leads you tell it about, and without a source on the record you cannot tell which ads bring signed projects. In the nearly $700K of Google Ads and Meta Ads spend I handled as a media buyer from October 2023 to September 2025, a lead with no recorded source was one I could not credit to any campaign, so capture it on the first call. The upload steps are in sending signed jobs from a CRM to Google Ads; Google Ads revenue versus your CRM explains why the totals differ.

Buildertrend's email drips send commercial email; in Canada, the anti-spam law asks you to obtain consent before sending commercial electronic messages (Government of Canada, checked 2026-10-18).

How do Buildertrend and JobTread differ on price?

JobTread prints its price: $199 a month with one internal user included, then $20 a month for each internal user from the second to the tenth and $15 from the 11th to the 20th on the monthly plan, and 20% off annually. It lists no contract, no setup fees, free customer and vendor portal users and no free trial (JobTread, checked 2026-10-18).

By that formula, five internal users cost $199 plus four times $20, or $279 a month, and the monthly bill reaches $499 at 18 internal users. Buildertrend's $499 is a floor with unlimited users that rises with volume and onboarding; its pricing guide lists its own model as a custom quote with no extra cost per user and JobTread as user-based (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18).

Neither page says which costs less for your company, and I am not picking one. Buildertrend's comparison page also says CoConstruct is now fully part of Buildertrend, no longer a separate platform (Buildertrend, checked 2026-10-18). For two more contractor tools, see Houzz Pro pricing and JobNimbus pricing.

Is Buildertrend worth the cost, in signed jobs?

Year-one cost is the subscription after any discount, plus the onboarding package, add-ons and any other order-form fee. Divide it by your gross profit per signed job (contract value times gross margin) to get the extra jobs the software must account for.

Illustrative: every number below is made up for an imaginary four-person kitchen and bath remodeler, and none comes from a client. These are not Buildertrend prices.

LineMade-up figure
Year-one subscription after discount, add-ons included$7,800
Onboarding package, paid once in this example$1,200
Year-one cost$9,000
Average signed project$62,000
Gross margin22%
Gross profit per job$13,640
Jobs to cover year one0.66
Year-two subscription if renewal rises the full 10%$8,580
Jobs to cover year two0.63

$62,000 times 22% is $13,640, and $9,000 divided by $13,640 is 0.66, so one extra signed project covers year one. In year two, $7,800 plus 10% is $8,580 with no repeat onboarding, and $8,580 divided by $13,640 is 0.63.

The real question is whether the software caused that job. Count only jobs you can name, such as an estimate chased because the pipeline flagged it or a lead logged instead of lost; otherwise the break-even is a guess.

Split by source, the same imaginary company's $18,000 of Google Ads brought 5 signed jobs worth $310,000, and free referrals brought 8 worth $496,000. That is $3,600 of ad spend per signed job and $17.22 signed per ad dollar, from just a source and a signed amount on every lead.

What should you ask in the demo?

  • What is the full written quote, with the customer success level, onboarding package, every add-on, annual versus quarterly payment and the renewal price?
  • What is the per-transaction rate for cards and bank transfers, and what does a client pay if I pass the card fee on?
  • Show me a lead record: which fields exist, can a lead source pick list go on the website form, and can any report group signed value by source?
  • Does anything send a signed contract to Google Ads or Meta, and who maintains it?
  • If I leave, in what format and at what price can I export my leads, jobs and documents?

The way in is a quote and a demo, not a free plan, so bring your last ten leads to the demo and ask the rep to enter them.

Questions owners ask

Frequently asked questions

How much does Buildertrend cost per month?

Buildertrend's pricing page showed me two versions on 2026-10-18. One says the platform starts at $499 a month and that the final price depends on your annual construction volume and onboarding package; the other prints no figure and leads to a custom quote after a few questions and a call ([Buildertrend](https://buildertrend.com/pricing/), checked 2026-10-18). Treat $499 as a floor and budget from the order form, which the terms say excludes taxes ([Buildertrend terms](https://buildertrend.com/terms-and-conditions/), checked 2026-10-18).

Do you have to pay for Buildertrend, or is there a free version?

Buildertrend's pricing page offers a quote and a demo, and I found no free plan or free trial on it ([Buildertrend](https://buildertrend.com/pricing/), checked 2026-10-18). The terms say Buildertrend may make some features free and may start charging for any of them at any time ([Buildertrend terms](https://buildertrend.com/terms-and-conditions/), checked 2026-10-18), which is no basis for running a company on a free tier.

Can I cancel Buildertrend in the middle of the contract?

You can start a cancellation by phone or email to your designated account manager, but the terms say fees already charged are not refunded, remaining fees on the order form, installments included, are still owed, and the subscription ends at the next renewal date ([Buildertrend terms](https://buildertrend.com/terms-and-conditions/), checked 2026-10-18). To avoid the next term's charge, cancel before the renewal date.

Does Buildertrend send a signed contract back to Google Ads?

Not by any route its own pages document. Its integrations page lists accounting, payroll, CRM, document and website-form connections, none of them an ad platform ([Buildertrend](https://buildertrend.com/marketplace/), checked 2026-10-18), and its CRM integrations sync one way, into Buildertrend. Ask for a demo of the exact route, and until you have one, keep the source and the signed amount on each lead record so the numbers can be sent back later.

Is Buildertrend cheaper than JobTread?

It depends on how many people need a login. JobTread prints $199 a month with one internal user included and $20 a month for each added user up to ten on its monthly plan ([JobTread](https://www.jobtread.com/pricing), checked 2026-10-18), while one version of Buildertrend's page starts at $499 a month with unlimited users ([Buildertrend](https://buildertrend.com/pricing/), checked 2026-10-18). Buildertrend's final figure rises with construction volume and onboarding, so compare a written Buildertrend quote, not its starting price.
