You run a remodeling or building company and want to know what JobTread will actually bill you. Its pricing page lists $199 a month for one internal user, plus $20 a month for each added one up to ten.

Quick answer

  • List everyone who manages jobs, schedules, time or reports. Those are your paid logins.
  • Subcontractors, vendors and customers get free portals. Some photo-only field crew can be free too.
  • There is no free trial; the monthly plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee instead.
  • You cannot lower the user count mid-term, so count before the first charge.
  • Ask where lead source lives and whether signed jobs can reach your ad accounts.

Who has to pay for a login?

JobTread charges for internal users, and the pricing page defines them as employees who "view customer and vendor information, manage jobs, build and modify schedules, track time, and access reports". The page adds that an outside accountant, or another person off your payroll, can count too when they need your JobTread data.

PersonLogin type
Owner, project managers, estimator, office adminInternal, paid
Outside accountant who needs data accessMay be internal, ask
Field crew who only upload photos, log notes, see schedule, check off tasksCan be added free, per JobTread
Subcontractors and vendorsFree external portal
CustomersFree external portal

The "free field crew" line is narrow. A lead carpenter who also tracks time or edits a schedule appears to fall under the paid definition, so ask JobTread to classify each role in writing.

To get your own count in ten minutes:

  1. Open your payroll list and mark every person who edits jobs, schedules or time.
  2. Mark who only needs photos, daily notes and task check-offs.
  3. Add outside people who ask for data, such as a bookkeeper.
  4. Add one login you will need within a year.

What does the bill look like at 3, 6, 10 and 15 logins?

The base price covers the first login; each added login is priced by its band, and "price breaks are only for the users in their respective tiers." The bands work out like this:

  • Monthly plan: $199, plus $20 for each login from 2 to 10, $15 for each from 11 to 20, $10 for each from 21 to 30 and $5 for each after that.
  • Annual plan: $159 a month, plus $16, $12, $8 and $4 for the same bands, billed for the full year.
Internal loginsMonthly plan, per monthAnnual plan, per monthAnnual plan, per year
3$239$191$2,292
6$299$239$2,868
10$379$303$3,636
15$454$363$4,356

These rows follow the page's bands, as its price calculator does. Check the 15-login row: $199, plus nine logins at $20 ($180), plus five at $15 ($75), is $454 a month. At 6 logins, a year of monthly billing is $3,588, so the annual plan saves $720.

Illustrative: the remodeler below is imaginary, its staff and project counts are invented, and none of them comes from a client. Only the prices are JobTread's.

It starts the year with six people: an owner, a project manager, an estimator, an office admin and two carpenters who only upload photos. That is 4 paid logins. It adds a manager and a designer in April, a bookkeeper with data access in July, and a manager and an estimator in October.

MonthsPaid loginsMonthly billActive projectsBill per active project
Jan to Mar4$2598$32.38
Apr to Jun6$29910$29.90
Jul to Sep7$31912$26.58
Oct to Dec9$35914$25.64

The formulas: monthly bill = $199 + $20 × (paid logins − 1), up to 10 logins; bill per active project = monthly bill ÷ projects running that month. The year on the monthly plan comes to 3 × ($259 + $299 + $319 + $359) = $3,708.

Nine annual seats bought on day one would cost $287 × 12 = $3,444, which is $264 less. But the terms bar dropping seats mid-term, and the pricing page does not say how a seat added mid-year is billed, so ask before you choose.

Which JobTread reviews are worth reading?

Read them, but know who picked them. The pricing page shows awards and five-star customer quotes that JobTread chose, so treat those as the vendor's selection.

I tried to open JobTread's pages on G2 and Capterra today and both blocked me, so I give no star rating or review count. Open them yourself and read the reviews from companies near your size and trade.

Is the monthly price the whole price?

Mostly, by the page's own words. It lists no contract, no setup fees and "every feature" included, with free implementation, training and support. It also lists data imports, job templates, and unlimited jobs, files and portal users.

"No contract" still means accepting the terms of service and an order form. The terms add rules that matter before you pick annual billing:

  • Subscription fees "are subject to change upon notice".
  • The subscription auto-renews at the then-current fees.
  • You cancel by emailing support; cancelling mid-term brings no refund, and the subscription ends at the next renewal date.
  • You cannot decrease users during a term.

The pricing page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on the monthly plan only. The terms never mention it and call fees paid non-refundable "unless otherwise expressly provided for herein", so ask for the guarantee on your order form.

Canadian owners pay in US dollars at their card provider's exchange rate, and the terms make anyone using the service outside the US responsible for compliance with local laws.

What moves over when I switch?

Contacts, cost items and specifications, by JobTread's account; the rest is a question for sales. Its switching guide asks for spreadsheets of your customers, vendors, cost items and specifications, and its team transfers them in.

Open jobs, budgets, photos and signed contracts are not named. Before your old tool renews, export:

  • customers and leads, with the source of each one if you kept it
  • subcontractor and vendor contacts
  • cost items and price lists
  • open jobs, budgets and change orders
  • photos, signed contracts and warranty records

If you are leaving Buildertrend, my Buildertrend pricing post covers its renewal terms and what its own pages print.

Where does a lead's source live in JobTread?

Not in any field its own pages name. The CRM page describes web-to-lead forms you embed on your website or share by link, with customizable fields, and kanban boards that track leads by status with follow-up tasks. It lists customer, vendor and job reports.

Nor did I find a report by lead source. Treat that as an open question. A custom field on the form would need to be set up and filled in for every lead, including phone calls.

The integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, supplier and payment tools, Zapier and an open API. None is an ad platform. No page I read describes sending a signed job's value to Google Ads or Meta Ads. That return trip is what shows which ads brought paying customers.

How CRM data reaches Google Ads explains the route, and why Google Ads revenue and CRM revenue differ explains the mismatch you will see.

What do I ask JobTread before I pay?

  • Which of my roles count as internal users? Send the list and get the answer by email.
  • On the annual plan, how is a user added mid-year billed, and when is my renewal date?
  • Where does lead source live, and can I report signed jobs by source?
  • Can a signed job and its value leave JobTread by Zapier, API or export for Google Ads?
  • Who moves my open jobs and files from spreadsheets or my old tool?

Questions owners ask

Frequently asked questions

How much does JobTread cost per month?

The [pricing page](https://www.jobtread.com/pricing) lists $199 a month, and that covers one internal user. Users 2 to 10 add $20 a month each, users 11 to 20 add $15, users 21 to 30 add $10, and each one after that adds $5. The annual plan lists $159 a month with $16, $12, $8 and $4 for the same bands, billed for the year, all in US dollars.

Is there a free trial for JobTread?

No. The [pricing page](https://www.jobtread.com/pricing) says JobTread skips free trials because it assigns every client a Customer Success Manager for implementation and training. It offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on the monthly subscription instead. The [terms](https://www.jobtread.com/terms) do not mention that guarantee, so ask to have it on your order form.

Do my subcontractors and customers need paid logins?

No. JobTread [says](https://www.jobtread.com/pricing) vendor, subcontractor and customer users reach a limited external portal and are free and unlimited. You pay for employees who manage jobs, schedules, time or reports, and possibly for an accountant who needs your data.

Can I drop users in the middle of a term?

No. JobTread's [terms](https://www.jobtread.com/terms) say the number of authorized users bought under a subscription cannot be decreased during the term. To cut users or cancel without the next charge, you have to act before the renewal date, so count your logins before the first charge.

Can JobTread tell Google Ads which leads signed?

None of the JobTread pages I read describe that. Its [integrations page](https://www.jobtread.com/integrations) lists QuickBooks Online, supplier and payment tools, Zapier and an open API, but no ad platform. Ask for a live demo of the exact route from a signed job to your ad account.
