Mindbody Pricing: Plans, Fees and the Fine Print

Mindbody starts at $79 a month per location; its other two plans are quote only. What its own pages say about fees, contracts and six alternatives.

Mindbody's US plans start at $79 a month per location, and its two higher plans, Accelerate and Ultimate, are quote-only. Card processing, a 20% fee on a new client's first purchase through the Mindbody app (capped at $30) and any add-ons come on top, so $79 is a floor, not a quote for your studio.

Quick answer

Starter is the $79 tier: $79 USD a month per location, with unlimited staff logins. Accelerate and Ultimate carry no published price, so budget a sales call before you can compare them to anything. Card processing through Mindbody Payments adds a fixed $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction on top of a percentage Mindbody doesn't publish, a new client the Mindbody app brings you costs 20% of their first purchase up to $30, and affiliate bookings such as Google's may carry a fee with no rate stated. You can't cancel in your first 90 days, and after that you give 30 days' notice before the end of a 30-day renewal term. Get the plan quote, the processing percentage and the affiliate fee in writing before you sign.

Is $79 a plan price, or a floor?

Mindbody's US pricing page leads with "Starting at $79 USD/month per location" and then shows Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate, each with a "Let's talk" button and no price of its own (Mindbody pricing, checked 2026-10-07 via the Internet Archive copy of the US page from 2026-10-02). Mindbody's US pricing post, last updated the same day, says US plans begin at $79 per location and that Accelerate and Ultimate are quote-based, which leaves Starter as the $79 plan (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). The pricing page marks unlimited users on all three plans and says the subscription rises with new locations, not new staff, so a fourth hire doesn't raise the bill (same Mindbody pricing page).

What separates the tiers, by Mindbody's own feature comparison, is operations and marketing depth: Accelerate adds room and resource scheduling, Pick-a-Spot and deeper analytics, and Ultimate adds email and text campaigns, a lead pipeline and a 24/7 AI front desk. None of that is priced, so a studio that needs those tools can't compare Mindbody's real monthly cost with a competitor's published number until it gets a quote. The page also invites you to ask sales about discounts, so ask what the quote is without one and when any discount ends.

A Canadian studio using Ultimate's email and text campaigns needs each recipient's consent, express or implied, before sending a commercial message under Canada's anti-spam law (Justice Laws, CASL s. 6, checked 2026-10-07).

What can show up on the bill that $79 doesn't cover?

Card processing is the first line. Mindbody's US pricing post lists "a payment processing rate plus a fixed fee of $0.10 to $0.30" per transaction in North America and Asia and never prints the rate itself (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07); the pricing page adds that your rate depends on the plan you choose and that Mindbody Payments is optional if you'd rather use another processor (same page). Its payments FAQ says processing carries no additional monthly fees, setup fees or long-term contracts, just a per-transaction fee "only when you process a payment" (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). Get the percentage in writing; half a rate isn't something you can budget against.

The Mindbody app is the second line. Listing is free, and the pricing page says a fee applies only when the app delivers a client you wouldn't otherwise have had: 20% of that new client's first purchase, capped at $30, with later bookings commission-free (same Mindbody pricing page). Bookings through Mindbody affiliates such as Google "may include a separate fee or revenue share tied to client discovery," per the payments FAQ, which gives no rate for it (same payments source).

Add-ons are the third. The pricing page lists a branded app as an add-on on Accelerate and Ultimate (not on Starter), the AI front desk as an add-on on Accelerate, and premium implementation, custom data conversion and Technical Account Management as priced separately, without printing any of those prices; it also says no Mindbody plan carries a setup fee (that same pricing page).

How many months are you actually committed for?

Mindbody's cancellation article says plainly: "Cancellation is not available within your first 90 days unless otherwise stated on your Order Form." After that, "Unless you have agreed to a fixed contract term, you are on a month-to-month agreement with Mindbody"; under a fixed term, you wait for it to end (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). Section 8.1 of the Terms of Service fills in the mechanics: the 90-day first term renews automatically in 30-day periods, either side can end it with at least 30 days' notice before the end of a term, and leaving early still leaves you owing that term's fees (Mindbody Terms of Service, checked 2026-10-07).

Two more lines matter before you sign. Section 4.2 of the same Terms lets Mindbody raise locked fees from your next renewal term, and any fee that isn't locked can change at any time. The cancellation article also warns that a cancellation date discussed over chat or phone stays tentative until Mindbody's internal team confirms it, and that exporting a lot of data after you leave costs extra and is offered for up to 30 days after cancellation.

Does owning ClassPass change anything a studio should expect?

Mindbody completed its acquisition of ClassPass on October 15, 2021. It said the deal positions it as "the world's largest fitness and wellness experience marketplace" (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). Its US pricing post lists the ClassPass integration among what the $79 entry price includes. A studio that uses the integration sees its ClassPass revenue and reservations on the same Client Acquisition dashboard that shows its Mindbody app bookings, though the location and date filters differ from ClassPass's own dashboard (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). What Mindbody's pages don't state is what ClassPass pays you: that sits in ClassPass's own partner terms, covered in what ClassPass's partner terms actually say about getting paid and leaving.

Can Mindbody show which ad paid for a new member?

Partly, and only for sales made online. Mindbody's GA4 guide connects its branded booking widgets to Google Analytics 4 (GA4, Google's free website analytics) by pasting a Measurement ID into its Branded Web Manager, and suggests marking "cart_booked," a completed booking, as a key event, GA4's name for a conversion (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). Its ad attribution guide adds the catch: it requires Mindbody's v2 appointment widget and v2 cart, and without cross-domain tracking set up on your own website, ad tags and click IDs drop when a visitor enters the widget and "All widget bookings appear as Direct" (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07).

For Meta, a Pixel ID entered in the Branded Web Manager makes v2 widgets send events including Purchase when checkout completes. Mindbody also states that Meta's Conversions API (the server-side route that recovers events a browser blocks) is not supported and that the pixel does not work with consent management tools (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). Both routes track activity inside the online widget and cart, so a membership sold in person after a trial class is outside what they see; for that, the client profile has a "Referred by" section where staff assign a referral type, counted in the Referral Types report (Mindbody, checked 2026-10-07). A search of Mindbody's support center on 2026-10-07 found no article on sending a booking or a membership sale from the studio software to Google Ads as a conversion; the one Google AdWords tracking article it returned is labeled for Booker, a different Mindbody product.

Across the nearly $700K I managed on Google Ads and Meta Ads as a media buyer, that gap is the one that matters: a bidding system only improves on what gets reported back to it, and a referral type a staff member picks never reaches the ad account. Tracking which source turns intro buyers into members covers the part that sits outside Mindbody itself.

Where do the named alternatives publish their own numbers?

VendorPublished starting price (checked 2026-10-07)Business type it names
Arketa$49/mo billed annually for the Individual plan (one team login), plus a 3% transaction fee and Stripe fees; three Studio tiers are "Custom" (Arketa pricing)"Fitness professionals" (Individual); studios (Studio tiers)
MomenceNo plan names or prices: "Let's talk pricing," with a request to describe your business (Momence pricing)Yoga, Pilates, dance, indoor cycling, fitness and gym, boutique, per its solutions menu
WellnessLiving$69/mo Starter, one staff member; Business and BusinessPro regularly $199 and $349, shown at $39 and $69 for the first two months under an offer ending October 16, 2026; Enterprise is "Call us" (WellnessLiving pricing)Gyms, fitness, yoga and Pilates studios, spas and salons, among others in its menu
GlofoxNo price on the page; a form asks business type, locations and details before its pricing step (Glofox pricing)Fitness, Pilates, yoga and barre studios, gyms, martial arts and more, per its business-type list
Zen PlannerStudio from $99/mo, billed on active members; Essentials from $198/mo; Ultimate from $348/mo (Zen Planner pricing)Gyms, martial arts schools, CrossFit gyms, boutique fitness and yoga studios
Vagaro$23.99/mo for one calendar, marked "only for a limited time," plus $10/mo per added staff calendar up to seven (Vagaro)Salon, spa, medical spa, barber, nail, tanning and Pilates, per its US pricing page menu (Vagaro, Internet Archive copy of 2026-08-12)

Two of six (Momence and Glofox) print no figure at all, and WellnessLiving's and Vagaro's current numbers are time-limited, so confirm every row with the vendor before budgeting from it. Vagaro's full pricing, including its per-calendar add-on cost and card rates goes deeper on one of these six, and how studio software compares by the jobs it actually does, not star ratings covers most of the rest.

What would a two-room studio's first year look like on Starter?

Illustrative: the studio, its staff, its members and every dollar figure below are invented to run the arithmetic, and none of it comes from a client or describes a real Mindbody customer; only the $79 price, the $0.10 to $0.30 fixed-fee range and the 20% app fee with its $30 cap come from the Mindbody pages cited above.

A two-room yoga and Pilates studio with four logins and 150 active members has no quote to run Accelerate or Ultimate math on, so this example stays on the one priced tier, Starter.

LineHow it's figuredIllustrative amount
Mindbody Starter, 1 location$79 x 12$948.00
Card processing, fixed fee only (percentage not published)1,100 invented transactions x $0.20$220.00
Mindbody app fee on new clients12 invented app clients x 20% of a $40 intro offer (under the $30 cap)$96.00
Affiliate booking feeNot published; a question for the demoNot counted
Switching labor: re-entering 150 members' stored cards150 x 5 minutes x $24/hr ÷ 60$300.00
Illustrative year one, known costs plus the switchSum of the rows above$1,564.00

Swap in your own numbers row by row. The app fee is new app clients x the smaller of 20% of their first purchase or $30. The switching row is minutes per card re-entry x members switching x hourly wage, divided by 60; it's the cost nobody's pricing page lists, because it depends on how many members actually need to re-enter a card rather than carry over automatically.

What should you get in writing before you sign?

  • The Accelerate or Ultimate quote in dollars, and what it becomes once any discount ends.
  • The percentage portion of the card processing rate on your plan, to go with the published $0.10 to $0.30 fixed fee.
  • Which of your bookings would count as Mindbody app or affiliate bookings, and the affiliate fee rate, since only the app fee is published.
  • Whether Starter's reminders include text messages: the pricing page FAQ puts email and text confirmations and reminders on Accelerate and above, while the US pricing post lists automated reminders at $79.
  • Month-to-month versus a fixed term, the exact date your 90-day first term ends, and which of your fees are locked.
  • Whether a data export after cancellation is included or billed separately, given the 30-day window to request it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Mindbody have any hidden fees?

Unpublished more than hidden. Mindbody prints a fixed card fee of $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction in North America and Asia but not the percentage rate, and its pricing page states the Mindbody app fee: 20% of a new client's first purchase, capped at $30. Its payments FAQ says bookings through affiliates such as Google may carry a separate fee or revenue share with no rate given, and add-ons such as a branded app are priced separately. Ask for each of those numbers in writing, plus the Accelerate or Ultimate quote.

Is Mindbody the same company as ClassPass?

Mindbody completed its acquisition of ClassPass in October 2021, so the studio software and the ClassPass marketplace sit under one company. A studio that turns on the ClassPass integration sees its ClassPass revenue and reservations on its Mindbody Client Acquisition dashboard as well as on ClassPass's own dashboard, with different filters on each. ClassPass payouts still run under ClassPass's own partner terms, not your Mindbody subscription.

What does Mindbody cost for a single-location studio?

Mindbody's US plans start at $79 USD a month per location, and of its three plans Accelerate and Ultimate are quote-based, which leaves Starter as the $79 tier. Users are unlimited, so adding staff at the same location does not raise the subscription; adding a location does. A studio that wants email and text marketing, which the pricing page puts on Ultimate, needs a quote to know its monthly cost.

Can I cancel my Mindbody subscription anytime?

No. Mindbody's cancellation article says cancellation is not available in your first 90 days unless your Order Form says otherwise, and its Terms of Service renew that first term automatically in 30-day periods. After that you are month to month unless you signed a fixed contract term, which runs to its end. Either way, Mindbody asks for at least 30 days' notice before the end of the relevant term.

Does Mindbody tell me which ad brought a paying member?

Only for sales made in its online booking widgets, and only after setup on your own website. Mindbody documents a GA4 connection that can count completed widget bookings as key events and a Meta Pixel that sends a Purchase event at checkout, but its own attribution guide says widget bookings show up as Direct without cross-domain tracking. A membership sold at the front desk is outside both, and I found no Mindbody article on sending a studio's sale to Google Ads as a conversion.

Is Vagaro cheaper than Mindbody?

The two floor prices count different things. Vagaro's US pricing article lists $23.99 a month for one staff calendar, marked as a limited-time rate, plus $10 a month for each added calendar up to seven and $20 a month for its MySite website. Mindbody's $79 covers unlimited users at one location and, per its US pricing post, a customized website. Price both at your own staff count before trusting either floor.
