By default Arketa passes card fees to clients at checkout, but not on subscriptions, so a studio selling memberships pays them itself. Studio plans are quote-only, with a booking fee of 0 to 3% on top of Stripe's; the one listed price is $49 a month for a single teacher.
Quick answer
- Ask for the studio price, with the plan name and what it includes.
- Price memberships with card fees included, because Arketa doesn't pass those fees to members.
- If you want your own app, ask for the add-on price or the Suite quote.
- Before leaving Mindbody, ask Arketa in writing whether members' stored cards will move.
- Tag every intro-offer link, then test that the source reaches the client profile.
What each plan adds
Individual covers one team member at one location; Core, Growth and Suite say "Custom" (Arketa pricing). Studio Core adds point of sale and payroll reporting. Growth adds email and text campaigns, automations and lead management. If you text or email Canadian leads, Canada's anti-spam law, CASL, needs consent first (Justice Laws, s. 6). Suite adds the branded app, a branded website and ad integrations with Facebook and Google.
| What a studio pays for | Arketa's published figure | Ask in the demo |
|---|---|---|
| Individual plan | $49 a month, billed annually, 1 team member, 1 location | Not for a studio with rooms |
| Core, Growth or Suite | "Custom", no figure | Monthly price per location, and which features are in it |
| Billing | Month to month unless you pick annual; Individual's annual price says "save 17%" | Your studio's annual discount, in dollars |
| Branded app (outside Suite) | Add-on, price not listed | Monthly or one-time, and who pays store fees |
| Branded website (outside Suite) | Add-on, price not listed | Whether the site is yours if you leave |
| Marketing Suite, Accounting, Bookkeeping | Add-ons, price not listed | Which of them you need on day one |
Two fees on every card sale
Arketa's help center names two charges on a card sale: Stripe's processing fee and an Arketa booking fee. Stripe is the company that moves the card money. Arketa runs your payments as a connected Stripe account, and it handles payouts and disputes inside its own dashboard. You "don't need a separate Stripe login."
The pricing page shows the 3% on Individual and never mentions Starter or the studio range. Arketa's Mindbody comparison quotes "flat 2.9% + $0.30 processing" without the booking fee, so ask which percentage your quote carries.
That 2.9% plus 30 cents is Stripe's approximate rate per US card charge. Stripe also takes it on tax: on a $100 item with $10 tax, the fee is figured on $110.
Never disconnect Stripe from Arketa, because that stops all payments immediately. And Stripe's 1099-K tax form shows gross volume, so its total may not match Arketa's revenue reports, which are net of refunds. Show both to your accountant.
Arketa's refunds article says the card processing fee is not returned when you refund a client. It says nothing about the booking fee.

Moving from Mindbody
Arketa's Mindbody comparison says a migration specialist moves "client records, active memberships, and your upcoming schedule." It doesn't mention stored cards.
Its general transfer article, which doesn't name Mindbody, sorts a move into three cases (Arketa Help Center).
| Case | What transfers | What clients do |
|---|---|---|
| Initial migration with Stripe payment data | Accounts, active packages, active subscriptions, stored cards | Reset their password |
| Initial migration without payment data | Accounts, packages, subscriptions | Reset password, add a new card |
| Self-serve client list import | Names, emails, tags and profile details, no packages | Create a new account |
Subscriptions and cards can only move through the initial migration. If you already hold subscriptions in a Stripe account, email support@arketa.com before you connect Stripe, because a separate process keeps billing intact. Neither page says whether Mindbody cards count as Stripe payment data, so ask which case yours falls under.
On your side: warn members about a week ahead and set a booking cutoff. The import also asks how to treat marketing and waiver consent: "Use CSV value," "Opt everyone in" or "Opt everyone out." The article does not say whether booking history or signed waivers come along. The yoga studio software comparison covers what else to check when switching.
Your own app
Arketa's help center says the branded app is a separate add-on product, with no dollar figure. Core and Growth don't include it; Suite does, and both routes are quote-only.
The same article says the app is published under your studio's name, adding: "It's yours, not Arketa's."
Momence charges $250 a month for its branded app, one figure to hold Arketa's quote against.
Leaving, and price changes
On Individual, you cancel with the Cancel button on the My Plan page. On a Studio plan, or to pause, you contact your Arketa representative instead (plan and billing help). The page doesn't say whether cancellation takes effect at once.
The terms I read state no subscription length or renewal clause, and the pricing page answers "Is there a commitment?" with "No." Get the term into your studio quote, with a price lock and a notice period.
The terms also give you 45 days from a payment date to report a payment error in writing; after that, the payment is final. Arketa's subscription refund policy is no-refund once a trial ends, and a request through live chat carries no guarantee.
Tagging intro-offer links by source
Arketa's lead management page says leads from your ads arrive tagged with where they came from. Its help article is narrower: the Lead Source column has eight values, and Facebook is the only ad platform among them. No page I read mentions UTM tags, which are short labels added to a link's end.
Arketa's Google Analytics and Google Ads article says to use Purchase or Booking success as your Google Ads conversion. It also warns against embedding Arketa pricing options on your site, because the embedded checkout blocks your tracking. Link to Arketa's hosted checkout instead.
After nearly $700K of Google and Meta ad spend, I trust a report only once a test booking shows up in it. Here is the test:
- Take your intro-offer booking link and add
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=intro_offerto the end. - Book the intro class through that link with a test email address.
- Find that test client under Customers and in Lead Management, and look for a source.
- Repeat with a different
utm_source, such asgoogle, and compare.
If the source never shows, ask Arketa where it stores UTM tags and which plan its "Facebook + Google ad integrations" need.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Arketa app?
Arketa prints no price for it. Its help center calls the branded mobile app a separate add-on product and says to contact support or book a demo from Sales Channels, then Mobile App, to get started. The top Studio Suite plan includes a custom branded app, and that plan is quote-only too.
Does Arketa have a monthly price with no contract?
The pricing page answers its own question about commitment with 'No': you can upgrade or downgrade any time, and all plans renew month to month unless you sign up for an annual plan. The only printed figure, $49 a month for one teacher, is the annual-billing price. The three studio tiers print no figure, so get the price and term for yours in writing.
Who pays Arketa's card fees, the studio or the client?
By default the client does at checkout, according to Arketa's taxes and fees article. The exception is subscriptions: fees are not passed on there, and Arketa suggests raising your membership prices to cover them. A studio selling mostly memberships should expect to carry these fees itself.
Can I bring my Mindbody clients and their stored cards to Arketa?
Clients and memberships, yes: Arketa's Mindbody comparison page says client records, active memberships and your upcoming schedule move with you. Stored cards are less clear. Its transfer article moves stored payment methods only in an initial migration it labels 'with Stripe payment data', and neither page names Mindbody cards, so ask in writing whether yours will move or members must add a new card.
Does Arketa show which ad brought a new client?
Its lead management page says leads from your ads are tagged with where they came from. The help center's Lead Source list names Facebook but no Google entry, and none of these pages mentions UTM tags. Its Google article can send Purchase and Booking success events to Google Ads once you add your tag. Test it with one tagged link before you trust it.
