Fresha's US pricing page lists $19.95 a month for a one-person business and $14.95 a month per bookable team member for teams, plus card fees and a one-time 20% commission, at least $6, on each brand new client who finds you through the Fresha marketplace (Fresha pricing, archived US copy, checked 2026-10-13). Your direct booking link, Facebook and Instagram bookings are listed as free, so the bill depends on which door new clients walk through.

Quick answer

The decision is not only "what does Fresha cost" but "which new clients should arrive through the marketplace". Write down your plan price, your card rate and the marketplace fee, which is 20% of a new client's first booking with a $6 minimum. Then compare that fee with what one new client costs you from your own ads, and give the next dollar to whichever is cheaper per paying client. Fresha's page changes with the country you view it from, and the US numbers here come from an archived copy of 2026-10-12, so confirm them in your own browser.

What does Fresha charge, and in which currency?

On the US version of the page, the Independent plan is $19.95 per month for one bookable team member and the Team plan is $14.95 per month for each bookable team member, with custom Enterprise rates above 20 team members (Fresha pricing, archived US copy, checked 2026-10-13). Both plans show a 7-day trial, and the page's FAQ says the trial for teams needs no credit card. The page states that rates are exclusive of local sales taxes. Paid extras include Client Loyalty at $59.95 and Google Rating Boost at $14.95 per location a month.

I used an archived copy because fresha.com/pricing shows the prices of the country it detects. Opened from Europe on 2026-10-13 it showed euros and the en-US address returned an error, so the dollar figures come from the Wayback Machine copy a US visitor got on 2026-10-12. For Canada, the copy of 2026-09-13 listed CA$29.95 a month for Independent, CA$19.95 per team member for Team, and the same 20% marketplace commission with a CA$6 minimum (Fresha pricing, archived Canadian copy, checked 2026-10-13).

The plan is billed by headcount of bookable team members. Fresha's help article says you are charged on the first day of each calendar month, renewals are automatic, and a card that keeps failing disables the plan (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13). For the same exercise on another platform, see Vagaro pricing and GlossGenius pricing.

Which booking channels trigger the new-client fee?

The US page splits online bookings by channel. Direct booking links, Facebook bookings, Instagram bookings and returning marketplace clients are marked free, while brand new clients who discover you through the Fresha marketplace carry a "20% one-time commission" with a $6 minimum per client (Fresha pricing, archived US copy, checked 2026-10-13).

The help center adds the rules. The fee is based on the value of the booking the new client made online, not on products or extras your team adds at checkout; it has a maximum cap for higher-value services, which the US page does not state; and it is non-refundable (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13). If you mark a no-show on the same day, you are not charged; if that client books again, the fee moves to the next booking.

The catch is in the same article, which says the fee also applies to a new client who viewed your Fresha marketplace profile first and then booked through your website or social media pages. So the "free" channels are free only for clients who did not find you on the marketplace first. You cannot simply opt out either: the article says taking bookings through your website and social pages needs a listed marketplace profile, and unlisting it disables all your online booking channels.

On the word "Free": the European version of the page, the only one I could open live, shows "Free" in the price cell of the marketplace new-client row, beside a one-time fee description. The US copy shows the 20% and $6 figures in that cell, so a "Free" there on a non-US version is not the US rule.

What does card processing add?

The US page lists online payments at 2.79% plus $0.20 per transaction, in-person payments at 2.29% plus $0.20, an extra $0.10 per Tap to pay authorization, manual card entry at 3.30% plus $0.20, and terminals from $139 per device on the Independent plan (Fresha pricing, archived US copy, checked 2026-10-13). On the Team plan the terminal cell reads "Free" and "Subject to processing volumes". The page's FAQ also says card processing through Fresha is optional.

Split last quarter's card sales into in-person, online and keyed-in, multiply each by its rate, and add $0.20 for every transaction. Ask Fresha what processing volume makes the Team terminal free.

How do I split Fresha bookings by channel?

Open the Sales summary report, set your date range, and use the Group by menu to choose Channel or Source (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13). The page defines Channel as the channel used to book the appointment and Source as the channel the client came from, with options like Book Now link, Facebook, Instagram and Walk-in. A Retention grouping shows whether a sale was the client's first sale, a returning sale or a walk-in.

That gives you two counts: new clients booked through the marketplace, and new clients booked through your own routes. For a single client, the profile's Client source shows "Fresha Marketplace" with the fee details, and each charge appears in your business wallet as a "New Fresha client fee" (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13).

Can Fresha's booking pages carry Google Analytics or a Meta pixel?

Yes, within limits Fresha describes. The Google Analytics add-on sends a page view for each step of the booking flow and an appointment event with the appointment's value, as both a custom event and an e-commerce purchase; it covers only the web version, not the iOS and Android apps, and shares activity only when the client consents to cookies (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13). The same article says Fresha does not support cross-domain tracking and removes information about domains the client visited before arriving on Fresha.

The Meta Pixel add-on sends six events, including Reservation when a client confirms a booking and Purchase when the client reaches the Payment Method confirmation screen (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13). A separate Google Ads add-on sends completed bookings to Google Ads, counted as conversions when the client clicked your ad and then booked (Fresha help center, checked 2026-10-13).

None of this says whether the client paid and came back. A Meta "Purchase" here is a screen reached in the booking flow, not money in your till, and an ad click that landed on your own website first may not carry through to the Fresha booking. That gap is why a channel table is only half the answer.

What is break-even between the marketplace fee and my own ads?

Use two formulas with your own numbers. Marketplace cost per new client is 20% of that client's first online booking, or $6 if 20% comes to less, up to a cap the US page does not state. Ad cost per new client is ad spend divided by new clients who booked through your own link after those ads. Before you count a booking as your own, check its client source: a client who saw your marketplace profile first carries the fee anyway, so they belong in the marketplace column.

If the second number is lower than the first, your ads are the cheaper door for the next client. If it is higher, the marketplace is cheaper at the margin, though it comes with a fee you do not control. Compare on paying clients, not on bookings, because no-shows still count in the ad bill.

Illustrative: every number below is made up for an imaginary salon with five bookable stylists, and none comes from a client. Only the plan price, card rate and 20% fee are Fresha's published US rates from above.

Line, one quarterMade-up figure
Team plan: 5 bookable team members at $14.95 a month, 3 months$224.25
Marketplace new clients: 30, each first booking $70, fee 20% = $14$420.00
In-person card sales: $24,000 in 400 transactions at 2.29% plus $0.20$629.60
Own ad spend$1,500
New clients booked on own link after ads, none seen on the marketplace first25

Fresha-side total for the quarter: $224.25 + $420.00 + $629.60 = $1,273.85. Ad cost per new client: $1,500 / 25 = $60. Marketplace cost per new client: $14, above the $6 minimum.

In this invented quarter the marketplace is the cheaper door per head, and the ads would have to bring a new client for under $14 to beat it, or earn their place through clients who stay, rebook and spend more. The salon should not drop ads; it should check retention by channel from the Sales summary report before moving budget. For the ad side, see salon advertising.

What should I ask Fresha before I commit?

  • Is the per-team-member price on the page I see still current for my country, and what sales tax is added in my state or province?
  • What is the cap on the marketplace new-client fee for a high-value first booking?
  • Is a booking through Google Search and Maps (Reserve with Google) free, and how do I see whether a client viewed my marketplace profile before booking on my own link?
  • Does the Google Ads add-on report a conversion when the ad click landed on my own website before the client moved to Fresha?
  • What exactly happens to my listing and data if I cancel mid-month?

Frequently asked questions

Is Fresha free for salons?

Not on its US pricing page. The archived US copy of 2026-10-12 lists $19.95 a month for one bookable team member and $14.95 a month per bookable team member on the Team plan, each with a 7-day trial. What the page marks as free is booking through your own direct link, Facebook and Instagram, and returning clients from the marketplace.

Does Fresha charge me when a client books through my Instagram or website link?

The US pricing page lists direct booking links, Facebook bookings and Instagram bookings as free. Fresha's help center adds one exception: if a brand new client viewed your Fresha marketplace profile first and then booked through your website or a social page, the one-time marketplace fee still applies. On the US page that fee is 20% of the first booking, with a $6 minimum.

What happens to my Fresha listing if I cancel the plan?

Fresha's help article on managing your plan says the subscription will not renew for the next billing cycle, access to your workspace is removed and your marketplace profile is unlisted. You can reactivate at any time to restore access. Plans are charged on the first day of each calendar month.

Can I put Google Analytics or a Meta pixel on my Fresha booking page?

Yes, through Fresha's add-ons, which the US pricing page lists as free. The help center says the Google Analytics add-on sends booking-flow page views and an appointment event with its value, from the web version only, and the Meta Pixel add-on sends events such as Reservation and Purchase. Fresha also says it does not support cross-domain tracking, so the trail from your own website may not carry into the booking.

How do I see which Fresha bookings came from which channel?

Fresha's Sales summary report has a Group by option with Channel and Source. The help page defines Channel as the channel used to book the appointment and Source as the channel the client came from, such as a Book Now link, Facebook, Instagram or walk-in.
