Birdeye Pricing and Reviews: What a Practice Pays

Birdeye prints no prices, only a quote form, and its terms need 90 days' notice to stop auto-renewal. What to ask, and which review rules bind you.

Searching "Birdeye reviews" gives two answers: what customers say about Birdeye, and the reviews Birdeye collects for your practice. For price, Birdeye prints none, and the contract rules sit in its terms of service.

Quick answer

  • Decide which meaning you need: ratings of the vendor, or where your patients' reviews land.
  • Ask for the quote with the term, renewal date and fee list in one email.
  • Put the non-renewal notice date in your calendar the day you sign.
  • Send requests to every patient, never only the happy ones.
  • Tag your profile links, so you can count booked patients yourself.

Where do reviews from Birdeye requests actually land?

It depends on the link the patient taps. Birdeye says its software gets reviews on sites like Google and Facebook, and also on its own platform, straight from an email or text request.

A review written on Birdeye is a Birdeye review, listed on the custom business profile page Birdeye builds for you. Birdeye says that page is indexed by Google and its review count shows in Google's Knowledge Panel (the info box beside a search result). It is still not a review on your Google Business Profile.

Ask the rep three things:

  • Which link does each request point to by default: Google, Facebook or Birdeye's page?
  • Can I send every request to Google only?
  • Who owns the Birdeye profile page if I leave?

What does Birdeye print about price?

Almost nothing, so leave the sales call with every row below filled in.

Question for BirdeyeWhat its pages say todayWhy it matters
Plan names and pricesNone printed: a form asks for your location count in six bands, then a Get Pricing button (pricing)You cannot compare a quote with a list
Per location?Pricing page: "built around outcomes, not seat counts". Its cost article says most enterprise brands are "evaluated on a per-location basis" (article)A fourth office changes the bill
Contract lengthTypically annual, per the cost article. The term is set in each order form (terms)Your order form decides, not the web
RenewalAutomatic, same period as the first term, unless the order form says otherwiseA missed date locks another term
Notice to stopWritten, at least 90 days before renewalSet the reminder early
Cancel mid-termPayment obligations "non-cancellable", payments "non-refundable", except where the terms say otherwiseDo not sign what you cannot use
Extra feesAn 8% "Innovation Fee" on recurring fees at each auto-renewal, for agreements from April 1, 2024 unless yours changes it; carrier texting fees may be passed onAsk for the renewal price

The terms make invoices due "net-thirty (30) days" from receipt. Everything else comes from the quote, so get it in writing.

Which rules bind you whichever tool sends the requests?

The tool does not change your obligations. In the US, the FTC's rule on consumer reviews, in force since October 21, 2024, bans paying or rewarding reviews of a chosen sentiment. It also bans groundless legal threats or intimidation to stop a review or get one removed.

If your website shows a review feed, the same rule bars implying it shows most or all reviews while low ratings are hidden.

Google's Maps content policy bars incentives "in exchange for posting any review" and selectively soliciting positive reviews.

Birdeye says on its blog that it does not allow review gating. Check the setting in your own account anyway.

In Canada, the Competition Bureau says incentives for positive reviews mislead consumers, and the Competition Act's deceptive marketing rules apply to anyone promoting a business interest.

For replies that stay HIPAA-safe, see this guide for answering reviews. If a profile lost its reviews, see why Google reviews disappear.

What do customers say about Birdeye itself?

Trustpilot shows Birdeye with a TrustScore of 3.2 from 680 reviews, as read on 2026-10-23. G2 and Capterra did not load for my check, so I leave their figures out.

Glassdoor reviews are from employees, so they say nothing about the product. On Trustpilot, filter to the lowest stars and look for billing, renewal and support, the topics your contract covers.

Birdeye's healthcare page claims it "meets every compliance requirement healthcare demands" and shows a HIPAA badge. Its HIPAA page posts a standard business associate agreement (BAA), the HIPAA contract a vendor signs before handling patient data. Ask for it to be signed with your order form.

A BAA is a HIPAA document, and HIPAA is US law. In Canada, the federal privacy commissioner explains PIPEDA and the provincial laws beside it, and four provinces, Ontario among them, have their own health information laws.

Can Birdeye show which ad brought a booked patient?

Birdeye's healthcare and pricing pages do not say it can. The healthcare page says its AI coworkers book appointments, but not whether a booking can be tied to the ad or search behind it. So ask, and count the rest yourself.

Try this in ten minutes:

  1. Open your Google Business Profile and find the website and appointment links.
  2. Tag each link, for example ?utm_source=google&utm_medium=business_profile&utm_campaign=booking_link on the appointment link. Tagging your profile links covers the full set.
  3. Save, then tap the link on your phone and confirm the page opens.
  4. In your analytics, check that the visit arrives under that source.
  5. Each week, count booked new patients whose first visit came from those tags.

Calls need their own number or call forwarding, which counting calls as conversions explains.

Is the fee worth it?

Illustrative: every number below is made up for an imaginary three-location dental group, and none comes from a client.

MonthFeeNew reviewsBooked new patients from tagged profile links
Before the tool$03052
First month with it$9004558

Cost per new review is the monthly fee divided by new reviews: $900 divided by 45 is $20. Booked new patients from tagged links rose by 6 (58 minus 52).

The two moving together does not prove one caused the other. A season, a promotion or a new doctor can do the same, so track three months before judging.

Before you sign, ask for the order form, the renewal price, the notice date, and the exit steps for your profile page.

Prices and rules checked on 2026-10-23.

Questions owners ask

Frequently asked questions

Do Birdeye reviews go to Google?

It depends on where the patient writes the review. Birdeye says a review written on its platform is a Birdeye review, listed on the profile page it builds for you, while a review written on Google is a Google review. Its requests can also point patients to Google or Facebook, so ask which link yours use.

Is Birdeye free to use?

Birdeye's pricing page prints no plan prices and mentions no free tier. It shows a form with six location bands and a Get Pricing button, so the number comes from a quote. Ask for the total at your location count and the contract term in the same email.

How do I cancel Birdeye?

Unless your order form says otherwise, Birdeye's terms renew an agreement automatically for the same period as the first term. Written notice of non-renewal must reach Birdeye at least 90 days before the renewal date, and payment obligations are described as non-cancellable. Put the renewal date and the notice deadline in your calendar the day you sign.

Does Birdeye review gating break the rules?

Birdeye states that it does not allow review gating, which it defines as sending requests only to happy customers. Google's policy also bars selectively soliciting positive reviews. Check that your own request settings send to everyone.

Is Birdeye a legit review site?

Birdeye is a software company that helps you collect and manage reviews, not a review site patients browse. On Trustpilot it shows a 3.2 TrustScore from 680 reviews as of 2026-10-23. Read a sample of the low ratings for billing and cancellation complaints before you sign.
