Acuity Scheduling's published plans run $20 to $61 a month billed monthly, or $16 to $49 billed annually, before card processing. For a business that takes cards at booking, the fee Stripe, Square or PayPal charges on top can cost more each month than the plan itself, as the worked example below shows.
Quick answer
Open acuityscheduling.com/pricing and note today's three tiers, their calendar limits and whether you need packages, memberships or HIPAA. Acuity describes a calendar as a separate set of bookable hours and suggests one per staff member or location (Acuity help, Adding and managing calendars, checked 2026-10-07), so the limit works much like a staff limit. Add up what Stripe, Square or PayPal will charge on your card volume, since Acuity adds no fee of its own outside legacy plans. If you plan to run Google or Meta ads to the booking page, read the measurement section below first: none of Acuity's guides describes sending a client's arrival back to an ad account.
What does Acuity's pricing page actually list?
Three paid tiers, each adding features to the one below (Acuity pricing, checked 2026-10-07):
| Plan | Price billed monthly | Price billed annually | Calendars | Adds over the plan below |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $20/month | $16/month | 1 | Payments via Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo; email reminders; custom client forms; automatic time zone conversion |
| Standard | $34/month | $27/month | Up to 6 | Text reminders, appointment waitlist, sell memberships and packages, sell gift certificates |
| Premium | $61/month | $49/month | Up to 36 | AI Booking Assistant, "Sign BAA for HIPAA compliance", hide the Acuity logo, multiple time zones for staff, custom API and CSS |
Every plan offers unlimited services and appointments and a 7-day free trial with no card required. The page's FAQ adds that listed prices exclude applicable taxes, that there are "no set-up fees, no cancellation fees, no support fees," and that an Enterprise offering with unlimited calendars goes through its Enterprise team.
Which plan fits which kind of business?
| Business type | Best-fit plan | Published price (checked 2026-10-07) |
|---|---|---|
| Solo massage therapist, esthetician, personal trainer or coach working alone | Starter | $20/month, or $16 billed annually |
| Small team of 2 to 6 providers wanting memberships, packages or gift certificates | Standard | $34/month, or $27 billed annually |
| Studio or multi-provider business needing HIPAA, custom branding or the AI Booking Assistant | Premium | $61/month, or $49 billed annually |
A solo provider with one calendar may not need Standard's waitlist or packages on day one. Add them when a second provider or a membership idea shows up: Acuity's billing guide says you can change plan and billing cycle at any time (Acuity help, Change your billing plan, checked 2026-10-07).
What do Stripe, Square and PayPal actually take?
Acuity connects to Stripe, Square or PayPal, and you can also pair PayPal with one of the other two (Acuity help, Accepting payments, checked 2026-10-07). On fees, that same guide says "you only pay the standard processing fees set by Stripe, Square, or PayPal," except on a legacy pricing plan, where a small Acuity fee may apply to subscription sales. The guide does not say what Stripe, Square or PayPal charge per transaction; that rate lives on each processor's own pricing page.
Per the same guide, the money a client pays lands in your processor account, not in Acuity, which cannot create payouts; you control disbursement through the processor. Gift cards your processor issues cannot pay for Acuity bookings, while Acuity's own gift certificates can be redeemed at booking.
Why do people say Acuity is expensive, and is it part of Squarespace?
Acuity is a Squarespace product: the logo in its site's header and footer reads "Acuity Scheduling a Squarespace Company" (Acuity, checked 2026-10-07), and Acuity's help describes it running on a Squarespace website through the Scheduling block or as a standalone product (Acuity help, checked 2026-10-07). If the price feels high, check two lines that are not the base plan: the card-processing fee on every transaction, which is the processor's rate, not Acuity's; and the jump from Standard to Premium, which buys the BAA option, an AI Booking Assistant and custom API access, features a single-calendar business may not need.
What does a HIPAA-enabled account cost and change?
Acuity's pricing page lists "Sign BAA for HIPAA compliance" under Premium, and its own HIPAA guide says: "You can make your Acuity account HIPAA-enabled on the Premium or Powerhouse plan" and that "a qualified third-party information security consultant reviewed Acuity" and "validated that Acuity can meet the requirements of the HIPAA Security Rule" (Acuity help, Acuity Scheduling and HIPAA, checked 2026-10-07). The same guide warns that enabling those features "alone isn't enough to make you HIPAA compliant." Powerhouse is not on today's pricing page; Acuity's calendars guide pairs it with Premium at 36 calendars (Acuity help, checked 2026-10-07), as it pairs Emerging with Starter and Growing with Standard, so it looks like an older name for the same tier. Confirm with Acuity which one your account is on.
The HIPAA guide also lists what changes once HIPAA is enabled: Reserve with Google and the invoices feature are off, and calendar syncing with Office 365, Outlook.com, Live.com, Exchange and iCloud and the Squarespace Email Campaigns integration are unavailable. Renewal reminders drop subscription names, email notifications to you drop client form answers, and the account logs out after four hours of inactivity. In Canada, HIPAA and its BAA do not apply; where PIPEDA applies, a business stays responsible for client information it transfers to a vendor such as Acuity for processing and must protect it by "contractual or other means" (PIPEDA, Schedule 1, clause 4.1.3, checked 2026-10-07), and Ontario and three other provinces have their own health information laws (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, checked 2026-10-07).
How does Acuity differ from Calendly day to day?
I have worked with Calendly's own GA4 integration and its embed's booking message, covered in Calendly Google Ads conversion tracking with GA4 and GTM; I have not used Acuity myself, so everything about Acuity here comes from its own pages. What changes daily work is packages, intake forms and payments.
Acuity includes custom client forms on every plan, sells memberships, packages and gift certificates from Standard up, and takes payment at booking through its connected processor. Calendly's platform page advertises "built-in payment tools" to "sell services and get paid" and promotes routing forms for leads, but nothing there mentions packages, memberships or gift certificates (Calendly, checked 2026-10-07). Calendly's own pricing page lists a free plan, Standard at $10 and Teams at $16 a seat a month billed yearly ($12 and $20 billed monthly), and Enterprise starting at $15,000 a year for 50 seats or more (Calendly pricing, checked 2026-10-07).
Can Acuity's booking page show which ad brought a client?
Acuity's Google Analytics integration sends page_view, a form-view event and a purchase event with the booking's value, currency, coupon, item name and item category to one connected GA4 property through Google's Measurement Protocol (Acuity help, Using Google Analytics, checked 2026-10-07). That is booking data inside GA4, not a Google Ads conversion by itself; linking GA4 to Google Ads and importing the booking as a key event is a separate step.
For a direct Google Ads conversion tag, Acuity's custom conversion tracking field loads your pasted code on the confirmation page and can fill it with variables such as %price%, %appointmentType% and %email% (Acuity help, Using custom conversion tracking, checked 2026-10-07). That same guide names Google Ads as a supported use of the field, but recommends the Google Analytics integration over pasting Google Tag Manager code there, because GTM on a site where Acuity is embedded "may not track appointment attributions correctly." Keep %email% and client names out of any ad tag pasted there.
Meta Pixel connects through Acuity's Meta Business Suite integration and sends PageView, InitiateCheckout, Schedule and Purchase events on the embedded or standalone scheduler (Acuity help, Connecting Facebook and Instagram, checked 2026-10-07). None of these three routes, GA4, custom code or Pixel, sends whether the client showed up, and none of the three guides describes sending that status to Google or Meta after the visit.
One month for a massage therapist: plan plus card fees
Illustrative: the therapist, her booking count and her processor's rate below are invented to show the formula; none of it is a real client's or an Acuity customer's numbers.
She books 70 sessions that month at $90 each, all paid by card inside Acuity, and her processor's made-up rate is 2.9% plus $0.30 a transaction; check your own processor's real rate, since Acuity does not set one.
| Line | Formula | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Plan (Standard, billed monthly) | Published price | $34 |
| Card revenue | 70 sessions × $90 | $6,300 |
| Percentage fee | $6,300 × 2.9% | $182.70 |
| Per-transaction fee | 70 × $0.30 | $21.00 |
| Total for the month | $34 + $182.70 + $21.00 | $237.70 |
| Cost per booked session | $237.70 ÷ 70 | $3.40 |
Rebuild it with your own numbers: plan price + (card revenue × your processor's rate) + (transaction count × its per-transaction fee), divided by sessions booked. Run it again at the Premium price too.
What should the demo or your current vendor answer?
- Does my staff count match the plan's calendar limit, counting anyone part-time?
- If I need the BAA, is my account on Premium or Powerhouse, and does anything differ?
- What does my chosen processor actually charge per transaction at my typical ticket size?
- What happens to my bookings and client data if I cancel, and is there a refund window on an annual plan?
- If I add Google Ads or Meta tracking, which fields in the custom code never carry a name or email?

Frequently asked questions
Why is Acuity Scheduling so expensive?
Its published plan prices, $20 to $61 a month billed monthly, may not be the biggest cost: for a business taking cards at booking, the standard processing fee Stripe, Square or PayPal charges on top can outgrow the plan. The jump to Premium also buys features a solo provider may not need, such as the BAA option, an AI Booking Assistant and custom API access, not a faster or better calendar.
Is Acuity Scheduling the same as Squarespace?
No. Acuity's own site carries the logo "Acuity Scheduling a Squarespace Company" in its header and footer, so it is a Squarespace product, not the website builder itself. It runs as a standalone scheduler or through the Scheduling block on a Squarespace website, and its plans and prices are the ones on Acuity's own pricing page.
Is Acuity Scheduling better than Calendly?
No vendor page settles that; they fit different jobs. Acuity sells packages, memberships and gift certificates from its Standard plan up and takes payment at booking on every plan; Calendly's own page advertises payment tools too, but nothing about packages or gift certificates. Compare the features your booking flow actually needs, not a verdict.
What is the cheapest scheduling app?
Acuity's own cheapest published tier, Starter, runs $20 a month billed monthly or $16 billed annually, but that number alone does not make any tool the cheapest for your business. Card processing, add-ons and your own transaction count can move the real monthly total more than the plan price does, so run the formula later in this guide with each vendor's own prices before comparing a single number.
Which Acuity plan includes HIPAA, and what does it change?
Acuity's pricing page lists "Sign BAA for HIPAA compliance" under Premium, and its HIPAA guide names Premium or Powerhouse, a plan name not on today's pricing page. Once HIPAA is enabled, Reserve with Google and the invoices feature are off and calendar syncing with Office 365, Outlook.com, Live.com, Exchange and iCloud is unavailable, so check those before you sign.
Can Acuity send a booking straight to Google Ads?
Not through a built-in Google Ads integration. Its Google Analytics integration sends booking events to GA4, and its custom conversion tracking field can hold a Google Ads tag that fires on the confirmation page; Acuity recommends its GA integration over pasting Google Tag Manager code there, because GTM on a site where Acuity is embedded may not track appointment attributions correctly. None of Acuity's guides cited here sends whether a client arrived.
