Lawmatics prints no price: its pricing page names three plans and sends every one of them, and every add-on, to a demo or to sales. What you can compare before the call is the plan structure (a 3-user minimum, a contact cap, which features sit on which tier) and what the software records about where each lead came from.
Quick answer
- Plans on the page: Essential and Premium need at least 3 users, Enterprise at least 5. No plan has a printed price.
- Billing terms, onboarding fees and contract length are not on the page. Get all three in writing.
- Time & Billing is an unpriced add-on on Essential and Premium and marked included on Enterprise; texting and the AI tools are marked as available for an additional fee, with no figure.
- Source tracking is built around UTM tags and an embedded Lawmatics form, and the plan comparison ticks URL UTM tracking only on Premium and Enterprise. For calls, Lawmatics documents a CallRail integration; sending a signed case back to Google Ads needs Zapier or a developer.
- Price the software by first-year cost divided by the net fee of one signed case, as in the example below.
What is in each Lawmatics plan, and what has no price?
The page says Lawmatics offers "tailor-made pricing plans for law firms of all sizes," and shows "Get a demo" or "Contact Sales" on every plan and add-on. The plan cards and the side-by-side comparison further down give the limits below (Lawmatics pricing, checked 2026-10-12).
| Plan | Published price | Minimum users and contacts | What it adds | What it records about marketing source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Quote only | 3 users, 500 contacts | Client intake, lead management, calendaring, custom forms, task management, 10 automations, 50 e-signatures | Source reporting ticked; URL UTM tracking and ROI tracking not ticked |
| Premium | Quote only | 3 users, 10,000 contacts | Everything in Essential, plus unlimited automations, workflow and marketing automation, email marketing, round-robin scheduling, advanced conflict checking, custom reporting, "analytics & ROI tracking," custom dashboards, event management | Source reporting, URL UTM tracking and ROI tracking all ticked |
| Enterprise | Quote only | 5 users, 10,000 contacts | Everything in Premium, a dedicated account manager, custom pricing, Time & Billing marked "Included" | Same as Premium |
Extra contacts are "sold separately." The Premium and Enterprise cards list SMS & MMS with the footnote "Available to add on for an additional fee," and the comparison shows 50 two-way texts a month on Premium, 100 on Enterprise and none on Essential. The AI tools, grouped under the name Merlin, appear on Premium and Enterprise with outcome-based pricing (Merlin Qualify, Merlin Engage) or user-based pricing (Merlin Copilot), and none has a figure. The page counts contacts as "the sum of all contacts (Matters, Clients, etc.) available for the firm," so ask whether old or archived inquiries count toward the cap.
What does it cost to get a lead to the intake form?
Before anything is signed, the lead has to reach Lawmatics. Lawmatics' intake page lists a custom form builder, e-signature for retaining clients, automation of the intake journey and appointment scheduling (Lawmatics intake, checked 2026-10-12). All four are ticked on Essential in the pricing page's comparison, which caps that plan at 10 automations and 50 e-signatures.
The catch for anyone running ads is that source tracking by UTM tag (the labels added to an ad's link that say which campaign sent the click) works only if the lead fills out an embedded Lawmatics form, and the setup has you paste a Lawmatics tracking pixel (a small code snippet) into your site (Lawmatics help, checked 2026-10-12). The pricing page ticks "URL UTM tracking" on Premium and Enterprise, not on Essential. A lead who instead uses your website builder's own contact form does not get a source assigned by this route, and if your site uses a different form today, that migration is a cost to ask about.
Does it know which ad or call brought the lead?
Three records matter, each from a different place.
- Web forms: UTM source and campaign values are matched to marketing sources you set up in Lawmatics.
- Phone calls: after you connect a CallRail account the firm already has, Lawmatics checks the caller's number against phone numbers in the CRM and sets source and campaign from the CallRail tracking number or the source value CallRail sends. On an existing matter it "never overwrites values already on the matter," so the first source stays (Lawmatics help, checked 2026-10-12).
- Ad spend: the Google Ads integration page says it imports "marketing spend and campaign data," helps calculate ROI from ad spend and the value of converted matters, and "works with all Lawmatics plans" (Lawmatics, checked 2026-10-12). The pricing page ticks ROI tracking only on Premium and Enterprise, so ask which part of that ROI view Essential shows.
What none of those pages describes is a lead who calls from an untracked number, or who clicks an ad, leaves, and returns by typing your address. None of them says what source such a lead gets, so count leads with a blank source before you trust the report.
Can a signed case go back to Google Ads?
Lawmatics captures the click id, GCLID (Google's code for one ad click), for leads from Google Ads campaigns when one is available. You can add it as a column in a custom report (Lawmatics help, checked 2026-10-12). Sending the conversion back is then your job: either a Zapier workflow triggered by an event such as a status change, or a webhook to a developer's own endpoint, which the article says does not send conversions to Google Ads directly. The article states no plan requirement, but its prerequisites include UTM values assigned to your Google Ads campaigns and an embedded Lawmatics form, so the plan limit on UTM tracking above applies here too.
So the upload is a project with its own cost, separate from the license. How that upload works from a CRM is covered in CRM to Google Ads offline conversions, and the fields a CRM must hold are in the law firm CRM field list.
What happens after the lead is in: billing and the matter?
Time & Billing is an add-on "applicable to any plan," covering time tracking, billing and invoicing, and online payments, with no price on the page; the plan comparison marks those features "Included" on Enterprise. The launch post says it works for hourly, contingency or fixed-fee billing but says nothing about cost (Lawmatics blog, checked 2026-10-12). If your firm already runs billing in a practice management product, you may not need it.
Lawmatics also lists a Clio integration that syncs matter data to Clio when a lead converts (Lawmatics, checked 2026-10-12). For what Clio itself charges, see Clio pricing for a small firm; in short, Clio Grow is Clio's own client intake and CRM add-on, while Lawmatics is a separate intake and marketing product.
What would the first year cost an imaginary 3-lawyer firm?
Illustrative: every number below is made up for an imaginary 3-lawyer firm, and none comes from a client. They are not Lawmatics' prices, because Lawmatics publishes none.
| Line | Made-up figure |
|---|---|
| Quoted price per user per month | $100 |
| Licenses: 3 users × $100 × 12 | $3,600 |
| One-time onboarding fee | $1,000 |
| First-year cost | $4,600 |
Suppose a signed case leaves the firm $1,500 after the costs of handling it. Break-even is $4,600 ÷ $1,500 = 3.07, so 4 signed cases in the year that the firm would not have signed without the system. The last clause matters most, because a lead you would have signed anyway does not pay for the software. Repeat the sum with your quote, adding Time & Billing, texting, extra contacts and any developer time for the Google Ads upload.
How do I know after 60 to 90 days that it pays?
Note the go-live date and read these from the CRM rather than from memory.
- Of the leads since go-live, what share has a source other than blank? If it is low, the form or pixel is not where you think.
- Median minutes from inquiry to first reply, before and after.
- Leads per stage: new, consult held, signed. A tool that only adds records but not signed cases has not paid yet.
- Signed cases from sources that were previously untracked.
- Total hours your staff spent maintaining it, priced at their wage.
Then compare the signed count to the break-even from your quote. For the intake steps themselves, see the law firm intake guide.
What should I ask Lawmatics for in writing?
- Price per user per month, the billing cycle it assumes, and the contract length.
- Onboarding or implementation fee, and what it includes.
- Whether three seats are billed to a solo lawyer.
- Contact cap on my plan and the price of each extra block.
- Price of Time & Billing, text messaging and any Merlin product I would use.
- Whether URL UTM tracking, CallRail source matching and the Google Ads conversion upload work on my plan.
- What I can export if I leave, in which format, and by when.
If you want outside opinions, a review site states its own score and reviewers' comments; read them as that site's words, since I have not used Lawmatics.

Frequently asked questions
Does Lawmatics publish its prices?
No. Its pricing page shows three plans, Essential, Premium and Enterprise, and sends every one of them to a demo or to sales, with no plan price anywhere. The page also states no billing terms, onboarding fees or contract length, so each of those needs to be in your written quote ([Lawmatics pricing](https://www.lawmatics.com/pricing), checked 2026-10-12).
How many users do I need to buy Lawmatics?
The pricing page lists a minimum of 3 users on Essential and Premium and 5 on Enterprise. A solo lawyer should ask in writing whether the minimum can be waived or whether three seats are billed regardless ([Lawmatics pricing](https://www.lawmatics.com/pricing), checked 2026-10-12).
Is time and billing included in Lawmatics?
On the pricing page, Time & Billing is listed as an add-on with no price, marked as applicable to any plan, and it covers time tracking, billing and invoicing, and online payments. The plan comparison on the same page marks those features "Included in add-on" on Essential and Premium and "Included" on Enterprise ([Lawmatics pricing](https://www.lawmatics.com/pricing), checked 2026-10-12). Lawmatics' own announcement post does not say whether it costs extra, so the quote is where that gets answered.
Can Lawmatics tell me which Google ad brought a client?
It can assign a source and campaign to a lead who submits an embedded Lawmatics form, using UTM tags on your ad links and a tracking pixel on your site. The help article says UTM tracking works only for leads who fill out an embedded Lawmatics form ([Lawmatics help](https://help.lawmatics.com/en/articles/10699966-how-to-add-utm-parameters-to-google-ads-and-track-in-lawmatics), checked 2026-10-12), and the pricing page ticks URL UTM tracking on Premium and Enterprise but not on Essential ([Lawmatics pricing](https://www.lawmatics.com/pricing), checked 2026-10-12). For phone calls, the route Lawmatics documents is its integration with a CallRail account the firm already has.
Does Lawmatics send signed cases back to Google Ads?
Not by itself. Its help article describes two routes, a Zapier workflow or a webhook that your own developer's endpoint turns into an upload, and says webhooks do not send offline conversions directly to Google Ads ([Lawmatics help](https://help.lawmatics.com/en/articles/10738670-sending-offline-conversions-to-google-ads), checked 2026-10-12). Plan for that setup work and its cost.
